Throughout the years we have continued to build on our school-wide strategies to support and empower dyslexic learners.<\/p>\n<p>Please find information below concerning information for parents, school resources &amp; external support links.<\/p>\n<p>Should you wish to discuss any concerns that you may have regarding dyslexia, please contact your<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/stewartonacademysite2016\/?page_id=120\"> child&#8217;s pupil support teacher<\/a> in the first incidence.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>What is dyslexia?<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>It is estimated that 1 in 10 people has dyslexia.<\/p>\n<p>Dyslexia exists in all cultures and across the range of abilities<\/p>\n<p>and backgrounds. Dyslexia often runs in the family. There is no<\/p>\n<p>\u2018cure\u2019 but lots of practical things can help overcome some of<\/p>\n<p>the barriers it presents. Dyslexia is a learning \u2018difference\u2019, which<\/p>\n<p>means that the brain can approach things in a different way to<\/p>\n<p>other people. Dyslexia can affect the way people communicate,<\/p>\n<p>and is different for everyone. It is not just about reading and<\/p>\n<p>writing and it has nothing to do with intelligence.
