Our department offers National 4 courses in History, Modern Studies and Travel & Tourism in S4.
All our young people start National 5 courses where possible but sometimes pupils are presented for N4 awards with progression to N5 offered in S5.
Our courses are as follows;
History – The Era of the Great War, The Atlantic Slave Trade and Hitler & Nazi Germany
Modern Studies – Democracy in Scotland, Social Issues in the Uk and The USA.
Travel & Tourism – Scotland, Customer Service, Employability and The UK & the Wider World
There is no final exam for National 4 courses. Pupils must complete all internal assessments (3 or 4) and an independent project, known as the Added Value Unit. Without completing all components, pupils cannot gain the N4 award.
