Obair Dachaigh – Homework

Madainn mhath!

I just wanted to send a quick message out about homework.

Clas 1

In term 1, Primary 1 will have a numeracy and literacy piece of work. The literacy piece of work will be focusing on the sound they have learned the previous week. The box at the bottom of the worksheet is for learners to draw words they can remember that start with that sound. For example ‘m’ for ‘muc’. The numeracy homework just now will be looking at numbers 1-10.

Clas 2/3

Primary 2/3 will  receive one literacy and numeracy piece of homework.  For literacy this might be a worksheet based on their reading book or something related to the sound they have learned the previous week. In numeracy just now we are looking at place value.

Jotters

Inside of each jotter their is a chart with  sounds the learner is  learning. I will highlight what sounds we have covered so that you can practice them at home. If the sound hasn’t been highlighted I would ask not to practice this with your child until we have covered it in class first.

Their might be homework that isn’t on a worksheet which is why I sent home jotters but if I haven’t posted about this on the blog  then don’t worry about having to do anything in the jotters.

Some common phrases:

Sgriobh – Write

Dealbh – Draw a picture

Cuir dath air – Colour in

Cuir cearcall mun cuairt – put a circle around

Seall dhomh – show me

Aireamh – number

Ainm – name

I am always happy to answer any questions about homework if you want to catch me at the end of the school day at the door.

Homework  will be sent out on a Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday.

Sorry for such a long message!

Taing,

Miss Miller 🙂
