We have had an incredibly busy week in P7.  The pupils have continued their book study on Wonder and have been working on Multiplication with Mrs McCaig.  They have been learning to send emails in ICT and they have been going over the rules of Basketball in PE.  On Thursday for PE we had so much fun playing with the parachute. We played games such as Fruit Salad, Shark Attack and Washing Machine. At the end we made a giant tent to chill out in.

We started our  new Social Subjects topic on Thursday and we will be focusing on Refugees in Scotland. We have had lots of important discussions on what it would feel like to have to leave our friends and homes and possibly be split up from our families.

Primary 7 have been working hard this week getting straight into their novel study, ‘Wonder’ with Mrs McCaig. They have also been getting stuck into some multiplication work in numeracy as well as- continuing to focus on Place Value.

In Music we got the Glockenspiels out to perform Livin’ on a Prayer by Bon Jovi using our Charanga programme.

Primary 7 have made a fantastic start to the school year. It has been so lovely to have them back together as a class and we are all excited for the year ahead.  They spent time on Wednesday making their class charter and we think it looks fabulous.

As they now have a lot more responsibilities in the school, we spent a lot of time discussing how to be good buddies and monitors and we know that they are going to be fantastic role models in the school this year. They spent a bit of time on Friday writing the House Captain speeches and they have until next Friday to perfect them. We are encouraging them to practise this at home.

We even fitted in some REAL maths work and they were really challenging themselves by doing some really complex Place Value work. I was blown away by how much they have progressed since P3.
