LOST – Outdoor Learning

Primary 7 welcome Mrs Baird from the East Ayrshire LOST team. Despite our perseverance the rain was just too heavy and we had to take our outdoor learning indoors. The children made responsibility friendship bracelets, each strand representing a different responsibility; one to themselves, to others and to the wider world.

We then looked at how we could use out outdoor objects, such as sticks and rocks for a variety of different games.

Huge thank you to Mrs Baird, we can’t wait until your next visit.

Angles

This week Primary 7 have been learning about angles. They revisited their previous learning, showing their knowledge of naming angles by identifying angles in the outdoors. They then used Apple Clips to create  presentations of their newly “marked up” photographs.

Using protractors and chalk the class then measured a variety of angles within the playground, before returning to the classroom and measuring a variety of angles on their desks.  At this time the children were introduced to complimentary and alternate angles.

It turns out maths can be fun!
