Well it has been a very quiet week in class this week! I hope all pupils who are at home are feeling well and we can’t wait to see you back in class. We have had some excellent learning happening at home! I expect it to be a number of days before our class returns to normal so please encourage your child to engage on Teams, if they are feeling well.
Our girls in school spent time in the local community on Tuesday spreading the word about International Women’s Day. We loved meeting the women of Kilmaurs and talking to them.
Luckily, last week was a very productive week for us!
In literacy we created texts for our buddies to enjoy as part of our World Book day celebrations. We explored infant books to assess what words they could read, as well as learning that infants take much of their reading information from pictures! Some of our finished results were lovely.
In numeracy we started our money topic and have enjoyed looking at budgets and revising the importance of place value and the decimal point. We look forward to studying currency conversions and credit and debit cards next week.
In literacy we are starting a new class novel to read for enjoyment called ‘The Afterwards’. We are continuing with our active spelling and grammar. We hope to finish our discursive writing topic in the next week or two!
We had our first Young STEM leader call with the other P7 classes and staff from Stewarton Academy. We can’t wait to get stuck in to earning the badges for our award.
