Dear Parent/carer,
I am delighted to be taking P6/7 through the final stages of the school year. I know that the pupils were very fond of Mrs Martin and she will be missed. I will be spending lots of time getting to know the pupils and making some small changes to the classroom environment. I am also keen to get to know the important adults in the children’s lives and hope to meet you soon.
I am here to support you and your child to the best of my ability, and to ensure we put your child’s wellbeing first. I am happy to discuss any queries or concerns you may have over the phone or in person by making an appointment at the school office. Please don’t hesitate to be in touch.
I operate a flexible homework approach which I will trial with the pupils. This will involve set tasks each week from literacy, numeracy and a contextual piece related to our learning in class. These will not always be written tasks, therefore on some occasions learners may not be required to hand homework in. Homework will be set on a Monday to be returned on a Friday, where we will have a follow-up discussion about the week’s tasks.
Our P.E days will continue to be a Wednesday and Friday, where I ask that earrings are removed, and long hair is tied back if possible. Homework diaries will also note important events in the week.
I look forward to the coming months and will ensure that your children continue to enjoy their learning.
Mrs L Brown
