Time is running out as we approach our Easter holiday! It has been an extremely busy week in P6/7 with another busy one ahead of us next week.
We were delighted to welcome PC Lynch in to class to discuss hate crime. Pupils displayed fantastic knowledge on the subject. P6/7 know that they have the power to be part of the generation who stamp out hate crime. I have every faith in them!
In maths we completed our measure and weight topic and challenged ourselves in problem solving. We took on our first Nando’s challenge, where pupils determined the level of challenge they took on. It was great to see so many of us tackling ‘Extra Hot’ challenges! Look out for the Nando’s homework challenge next week!
We continued to read Coraline in class with a focus to writing succinct chapter summaries. We also completed our scripts which we will move on to film next week. I can’t wait to see the product of everyone’s hard work!
In health and wellbeing we finished our Internet Safety learning by discussing our online activity and addressed potential dangers.
We also continued to learn about how to look after our mental wellbeing. Wednesday was International Day of Happiness so we focused on the concept of ‘gratitude’ and what makes us happy!
See if you feature on your child’s ‘what makes me smile’ below. As you can see we all have so many things to be grateful for!
Achievements this week:
Superstar awards – Kate & Josh for excellence in writing
Group of the week – Kate, Aoife, Jacob & Lucas
Star of the week – Jacob for being selfless.
HotChocFriday attendee – Charley for her positive attitude.
See you all on Monday!!

Wow! P6/7 what a fantastic update to read. I am so proud of you all. I love all the things you are grateful for. I have absolutely no doubt that you will be the young people that influence society’s attitudes. Looking forward to reading the fabulous writing.
