Weekly round up 8/3/19

This week P6/7 took on a number of new challenges, whilst experiencing success in a number of areas!

Our week started off with the concept of using formula to calculate volume of cubes, cuboids and prisms…that was tough!! With some practise, group work and time in our new Lightbulb area, we got there. The ‘Lightbulb area’ is a space outside our classroom where we can work in small groups to consolidate things that are confusing us or learn new concepts. We named it the lightbulb area as it’s a place where you have those lightbulb moments!

We presented our Blue Planet solo talks and boy were we awesome! There were informative posters, elaborate Powerpoints and very confident speakers. We took time to give each other constructive feedback and everyone seemed to appreciate this.

In health and wellbeing we continued our learning about internet safety but also introduced mental wellbeing. We participated in some mindfulness exercises. Not everyone enjoyed them but it’s part of the process of finding out which strategies work for us. We also started the #100HappyDays challenge. Today we were happy to see everyone’s fantastic World Book Day costumes (see below).

Achievements this week:

HotChocFri – Ruby who chose to take Kodi

Star of the week – Aoife for excellent effort in all areas

Group of the week – Disney (Jacob, Lucas, Aoife & Kate)

Theo received a Superstar award at assembly for his Blue Planet presentation.

Well done everyone! 🙂
