Cauld blaws the wind frae east to west,
\nThe drift is driving sairly;
\nSae loud and shrill\u2019s I hear the blast,
\nI\u2019m sure it\u2019s winter fairly.<\/p>\n
Up in the morning\u2019s no for me,
\nUp in the morning early;
\nWhen a\u2019 the hills are cover\u2019d wi\u2019 snaw,

The birds sit chittering in the thorn,
