We had two very special visitors today from Cash for Kids and West FM. They answered lots of our questions and were interested in how we are fundraising. We are even going to get a special mention on West FM tomorrow at 8:30am… keep your ears peeled.
What a busy week we’ve had. Here we are enjoying our electricity topic in science. We designed and tested circuits, making sure they had all the components to work.
In maths, we used play-doh to help us with division.
In literacy, we explored Scots language and completed a crossword in Scots.
Today, we visited Sorn Parish Church for our Remembrance Day service. We sang some songs about peace and remembrance and also read poetry and shared a bible reading. Everyone enjoyed us sharing what peace means and observed a silence in memory of those who died in the war. If you’re passing, take a look at our poppies in the grounds of the church.
On Friday we enjoyed a special treat during our well-being walk. Some of our families joined us for hot chocolate and s’mores, complete with toasted marshmallows. Check it out 👇
Last week Primary 4/5/6/7 enjoyed a visit to the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock. We took part in some drama activities and then had a tour round the museum to see the collection they are currently holding whilst Dean Castle is restored. Here’s a few snippets…
