We are nearing the end of our class novel, Danny the Champion of the World, <\/em>however we are still unsure as to how the story is going to end. We are continuing to use our 6 reading strategies to complete tasks related to the novel and this week we focussed on metalinguistics. This strategy helps us to find out the meaning of unfamiliar or tricky words.<\/p>\n

This week for mental maths we were revisiting the partitioning strategy which help us break down larger calculations into more manageable calculations. This strategy seems to be a favourite in P4\/5.<\/p>\n

We are still learning all about substance misuse and the effects different substances can have on your body. This week we looked at the different categories drugs can be broken into; socially acceptable drugs, prescribed drugs, over the counter medicines and controlled (illegal) drugs. We then completed an activity to help consolidate our learning.<\/p>\n
