This week the children in Primary 4 have been creating their own beach plates, using different techniques to create the sea and the sand. The children painted half the plate and crushed cornflakes to create the sand effects. The class then created their own umbrellas out of cocktail sticks and card and managed to create palm trees as well. They all looked fantastic well done everyone.

This week the children have been creating their own Chameleon mosaic as part of their art lesson, linking this to their class topic. The children used a range of collage skills including creating the pattern on the chameleon, using proportion for the branches and applying watercolour to the background. The children really enjoyed creating their own Chameleon and did an excellent job, well done!

The children designed Spring baskets with eggs inside of them as part of their Spring art display. The children learned how to design the basket and incorporated their own designs and patterns on the eggs. They had lots of fun doing this and they all look great! Eggsellent job Primary 4.

The children in Primary 4 have been continuing their work on Scotland this week and as part of their art lesson, they started to create their own Scotland flags using crepe paper. The class were learning about collage this week and we watched clips from Art Attack to show how collage can take different forms not just paper, the children applied this knowledge as they begin to create their own designs. Well done Primary 4, I am sure many of the adults at home will remember Art Attack from their youths!

Primary 4 created colour wash, wax resist backgrounds in the style of Van Gogh before using watercolours to paint their hilarious snowmen losing their hats in the wind. I just love the facial expressions. Well done everyone!
