Paper copies of the poems have been given to all pupils to learn at home and are also shown below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The Primary 2 poem is <strong>My Wee Doggie<\/strong> by J.K. Annand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>My Wee Doggie<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">My wee doggie<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">does lots of tricks,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Fetches the paper,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Brings back sticks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Chases aw the craws,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">That steal the hen\u2019s feed,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Lowps through a gird,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">kids he\u2019s deid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Sits on his hunkers,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0Gies a paw,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Then he gets a bane to gnaw.<\/p>\n<p>The Primary 3 poem is <strong>Mince and Tatties<\/strong> by J.K. Annand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><u>Mince &amp; Tatties<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I dinna like hail tatties<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Pit on my plate o mince<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">For when I tak my denner<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I eat them baith at yince.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Sae mash and mix the tatties<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Wi mince into the mashin,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">And sic a tasty denner<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Will aye be voted \u2018Smashin!&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Pupils will be chosen to perform their poem in front of judges and the winners from each stage will then perform at our Scots Verse Celebration on the 31st January.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of our Scotland topic this term all classes are learning a Scots poem.
