Since it is Shrove Tuesday tomorrow, pupils have been given an \u2018Investigating pancakes\u2019 challenge which has been added to their numeracy scrapbook this week.<\/p>\n

Pupils can complete this task in any way they wish. You may want to make pancakes at home together, looking at the ingredients needed and measuring them out. How many pancakes can you make with the mixture? How many pancakes would each person in your family get? Pupils could also cut the paper circle given to work out the smallest size they could make for all of their family to have a piece of a pancake. For example, in a family of four each person would get 1\/4.<\/p>\n
