Literacy<\/h3>\n

This week P2 have been learning the ‘igh’ phoneme, as in night, light and high.\u00a0 Their new common words are right, can’t and don’t.<\/p>\n

In writing they continued to work on their stories.\u00a0 They wrote the middle of their story, introducing a problem for their character.<\/p>\n

P2 also enjoyed a visit to the school library on Wednesday.\u00a0 They will keep their book for three weeks and I’ll send out a reminder when they are due back in.<\/p>\n

Numeracy<\/h3>\n

We continued to focus on multiplication, with pupils making their own arrays to show different calculations.\u00a0 In Multiplication Masters P2 have been working really hard practising their times tables.\u00a0 P2 finished off the week with an assessment on all the work they have been doing on shape.<\/p>\n

Learning Across the Curriculum<\/h3>\n

As part of their Scotland topic pupils designed a new kilt for Katie Morag.\u00a0 They had some fantastic designs, I’m sure Katie Morag would love to wear them!<\/p>\n

P2 also had a trip to Dumfries House on Tuesday.\u00a0 They practised making fires and den building in the morning and then got to visit the farm in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
