Literacy<\/u><\/p>\n

This week we have been consolidating our spelling of \u2018i_e\u2019, \u2018igh\u2019 and \u2018y\u2019 words. We practised writing our common words, working with a partner and asking each other to spell different words.\u00a0 We also created lollipop characters to retell the story of\u00a0 the Billy Goats Gruff.<\/p>\n

Numeracy<\/u><\/p>\n

Following on from estimating we have been finding out about rounding numbers and have been practising rounding numbers to the nearest 10 with the help of a number line. P2 have also been learning about probability and discussing how likely something is to happen and being able to justifying their choices.<\/p>\n

Learning across the Curriculum<\/u><\/p>\n

Technologies (Craft Design and Engineering): P2 have been learning about bridges, the materials they are made from and how engineers design them to be strong.\u00a0 They designed and built their own bridges then tested them to see how strong they were by finding out how many wooden blocks they could hold before they collapsed.<\/p>\n

French: We have been learning different greetings and practising them with other pupils and in the morning during the class register.<\/p>\n

As it was such lovely weather on Thursday we enjoyed a play at the park while we were out our walk.<\/p>\n
