Our cress heads have grown much taller over the weekend. You can see a lot more green cress leaves have appeared. They have started to open up and use more space in the plant pot. We noticed that it smells much stronger now too!
We are going to bring our cress heads home today and we can act like hairdressers by cutting their hair and tasting it!
Our cress is growing well! We can now see lots more green, the leaves are getting bigger and the stems are getting longer. We will take them home next week and then we can hopefully taste it!
Primary 1 planted cress seeds on Monday to create our very own cress heads. Once the cress is more than 5cm tall, we can act like hairdressers and cut it off, then we can eat it!
Check the class blog for progress of our cress heads 🙂
Thank you so much to everyone who came along and watched Primary One perform their class assembly. Our young people worked so hard creating and rehearsing and we are sure you will all agree they did an outstanding job.
As a special treat for all the hard work, on Tuesday afternoon we had a campfire and den building session. We had so much fun making special memories together and the roasted marshmallows were delicious!
We are looking forward to making lots more special memories in the next couple of weeks – though Miss Courtney and Mrs Steel are beginning to feel a bit emotional about our little friends moving on to their new classes!!
Tomorrow is the big day! We are performing our ‘Day in the Life of Primary 1’ assembly to the ECC boys and girls and parents/carers. Please let us know if you are coming if you haven’t already returned the slip, so that we can have enough chairs ready.
A letter has gone home today requesting permission for your child to take part in a treat afternoon, where we are hoping to have some marshmallows and chocolate biscuits. Please read this letter, sign it and give it into school with your child tomorrow, as the treat will be tomorrow afternoon.
Please be aware a letter has gone out today requesting a pair of pyjamas for P1 learners for their novelty race on Sports Day this Friday. Please give your child a pyjama top and pyjama bottoms (easy to pull on and off) in a plastic bag with their name on.
Please note Sports Day will only go ahead this Friday (31st May) if the weather is suitable.
Mrs Steel and Miss Courtney brought in some lovely slimey visitors for us. We had lots of fun playing with them, feeding them and inspecting them through the magnifying glasses. We used lots of descriptive language to talk about how they felt on our hands.
Primary 1 took advantage of the lovely weather yesterday and went outside to create our own stories! We took a character outside and created an adventure for it. It was lots of fun telling our stories to each other and creating exciting adventures.
We had a fab day at our Teddy Bear’s Picnic with the ECC boys & girls! We played lots of games, did a nature hunt & had lovely snacks with our mums/dad’s/grans/grandpas and our teddies!
Thank you to all the adults who came to join us and all our lovely teddies too!
