Dear Primary 1 parents,<\/p>\n

We have been learning the letters s and a this week.<\/p>\n

In addition to reading with your child daily, here are some fun letter activities to do with your child at home if you want.<\/p>\n

  1. Put some dry rice, sand, shaving foam or similar on a baking tray and encourage your child to write the letters s and a with their finger.<\/li>\n
  2. Make the letters s and a with playdough. You can make playdough yourself – here is a simple playdough recipe\u00a0<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. Alligator starts with a. Roll dice and snap like an alligator that many times.<\/li>\n
  4. Go for a walk and see if you can spot the letters s and a on signs and posters.<\/li>\n
  5. Look at the pictures below. Practise saying the word and listening to the first sound. Encourage your child to identify the pictures that start with an a and those that start with a s.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
