Our primary school consists of our P1 to P7 pupils. The Park School Primary Department is located over two areas with our upper primary with the main Grange campus building.
Our Primary Principle Teacher is Mrs D McGarey. Our pupils also have the support of our Principle Teacher of Guidance, Mrs A Barbour.
Pupils in the primary develop reading, writing and number skills by following Curriculum for Excellence. Pupils are also given opportunities to develop interests and talents through personalisation and choice.
Curriculum for Excellence consists of eight curriculum areas:
- Expressive arts
- Health and wellbeing
- Languages (including English, Gàidhlig, Gaelic learners, modern languages and classical languages)
- Mathematics
- Religious and moral education
- Sciences
- Social studies
- Technologies.
Literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing are recognised as being particularly important – these areas are seen as being the ‘responsibility of all’ staff.
