POST-SCHOOL TRANSITION PACK FOR DEAF LEARNERS

This pack is designed to support deaf young people as they leave school.  It provides useful information and support services relevant to deaf young people in Scotland.

2. Grants and Funding

Below you will find links to possible funding options that may be available to you/your child.  The links give information about funding options, eligibility and possible grants.  The information is Scotland specific.

  • Independent Living Fund Scotland – Transition Fund | ILF Scotland
    • Age between 16 and 25
    • support to try new activities and experiences
    • up to £4000 for one year
    • Open to new applicants only
    • Currently takes 20 weeks to process

TRUST FUNDS – may be useful for pupils who need funding for uni courses etc.

4. Audiology Management

5. Internet Safety

Internet safety has become an integrative part of everyday life. This document signposts deaf children and young people to a range of links, providing information on areas such as privacy settings, keeping your personal details private and reporting online abuse.
