P5 trip to Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway.

As my last week with the children approaches before Maternity Leave I just wanted to say a massive thank you for everyone’s well wishes. It has been a pleasure teaching P5 and I wish them lots of future success with Mr Dearie. Have a wonderful February break and hopefully I will be back soon for a visit.

It’s wonderful to see everyone engaging with our new Numeracy topic of Time. We had amazing discussions today about the homework task this week. I was so happy to see what the children had found, some of which I hadn’t even thought of myself!
Super work P5A!
“Tam o‘ Shanter” is a narrative poem written by the Scottish poet Robert Burns in 1790, while living in Dumfries.
P5 have created our own story board versions of the famous tale. Have a look!
P5 are very much looking forward to visiting Alloway Burns Centre – the setting of the poem!
P5A Christmas Art
Using water colour paint and oil pastels P5 sketched, painted and designed our GRINCHMAS pictures.
We are officially in business! Our official business plan has been drafted and we are ready to sell sell sell!
Starting Monday afternoon for one week P5A will be selling a Christmas Newsletter that we have worked hard to create. It will be on sale to the children of Gargieston for 10p each.
We have discussed with suppliers and negotiated financial trading terms.
“I can use the terms profit and loss in buying and selling activities and can make simple calculations for this. MNU2-09c”
“By experiencing the setting up and running of a business, I can collaborate in making choices relating to the different roles and responsibilities and have evaluated its success. SOC 2-22a”
Any business experience? Contact Mrs Kerr – we would love for parents or family friends to come and help our class learn more specialist information!
Today our Health and Well-being lesson was on the power of positivity!
After looking at an inspirational video and quotes we talked about the importance of remembering how special and individual we all are and take pride in even the smallest steps we take towards succeeding in any challenge.
We talked about how sometimes we forget all of our amazing qualities and focus on the things we want to change, however our friends around us can remind us how extraordinary we all are.
Each person in the class wrote anonymous positivity comments to each other to remind Primary 5A that they sparkle everyday not just on the days that they succeed academically.
Miss Fyvie
Thank you Dominic who presented to the class today. He told us all about achieving his diving certificate on his recent holiday! Well done to you.
