Christmas Advent 16th Dec – Panto Day!

Good Afternoon Primary 3/4!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls is time for a PANTOMIME!
I wish we could all share this panto season together but I hope you’ll join me in watching one!

Have you ever seen a pantomime? If so, what was your favourite bit?
I love Cinderella because I love the character Buttons. He is very sweet and I love when he talks to the audience.

I hope you enjoy this pantomime I found online.

See you soon,

Miss Aird x

Literacy

We have been talking about nouns, verbs and adjectives in class.

Today, we are going to remind ourselves about adjectives.

(Adjectives are words that describe nouns (people, places, things, feelings).

Click and select ‘slideshow’ to watch the Powerpoint about adjectives.

Now click to look at the Winter scene picture that I would like you to write about and include your amazing adjectives.

Learning Intention: To create interesting sentences about a Winter scene.

Success Criteria:

  • Find amazing adjectives
  • Include capital letters and full stops
  • Write great sentences using your amazing adjectives

Numeracy

We have been learning also about volume and measuring in millilitres (ml) and litres (l),

Remember 1 litre = 1000 ml

3 litres = 3000 ml etc.

Litres are for larger volumes and millilitres for smaller volumes.

Click and select ‘slideshow’ to watch the Powerpoint about measuring in millilitres.

Next click to look at some  volume questions. See if you can work out the number of millilitres in each jug.

Learning Intention: To read a scale in millilitres correctly

Success Criteria:

  • Work out the value of each marker in the scale
  • Count up to the mark

Health and Wellbeing

Today we are thinking about positive thinking. Positive thinking is when we keep happy thoughts in our mind, and we chase away negative thoughts.

See if you can design a thinking hat with positive words on it like:

  • I can do this!
  • Super me!
  • Reach for the stars!

Click to see an example of the hat.
