Currently School is due to start on Tuesday 18th August 2019 – although this is subject to change.
You should bring your child to school for 9.30am on their first day and you should bring him/her directly into the classroom. As soon as your child settles you should leave. It is unusual for children to be upset by this – it is more likely to be the parent who is upset! However, you should explain beforehand that you will return to collect her/him later. Although you may be experiencing mixed emotions about leaving your child in school, particularly if this is your first child, it is better if you can put up a confident, positive front.
You should return to collect your child at 2.30pm from the same door you entered.
For the first week they will attend 9.30 – 2.30pm to give them a staggered entry and exit time from the rest of the school. You will be able to deliver and collect your child from the Main Entrance at the beginning and the end of the day.
From then on in, your child will attend from 8.55am to 3pm.
Lunchtime is at 12.30pm until 1.20pm.
Covid-19 will mean that our first days will look very different but we will give parents and carers all information and updates as soon as we know arrangements. Please keep an eye on the school app (see page 20).
