Onthank Young People & Families,<\/p>\n

Our staff have\u00a0been busy creating exciting and engaging home learning packs and digital learning activities for our young people.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Activities, as always, will be active, fun and inclusive for all learners, regardless of ability.<\/p>\n

Here is a summary for each stage –<\/p>\n

Primary 1<\/span> – Pack with parent letter,\u00a0 logins and passwords, jotter,\u00a0 pencil, worksheets,\u00a0 materials and ideas for cross- curricular activities, Information on P1 class blog<\/p>\n

Primary 2<\/span>–\u00a0Pack with parent letter,\u00a0 logins and passwords,\u00a0 worksheets,\u00a0 materials and ideas for cross- curricular activities,\u00a0Information on P2 class blog<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Primary 3<\/span>\u00a0 –\u00a0Pack with parent letter ( logins and passwords sent with report),\u00a0 jotter and P 3 class blog with a page for each teacher.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Primary 4<\/span> – Pack with a parental letter giving instructions on P4 blog,\u00a0 range of worksheets, literacy, numeracy, jotter with Glow log ins.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Primary 5<\/span>– Teams page for communication, lessons, folders with maths and numeracy, literacy and french.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Primary 6<\/span> –\u00a0Teams page for communication, lessons, packs made up for individual children<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Primary 7<\/span>–\u00a0Teams page for communication, ON-LINE lessons\u00a0 posted daily,\u00a0 folder with assessments, jotters etc<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At Onthank we are very proud of the level of digital learning and ownership our young people have already achieved.\u00a0All learners in Primary 5, 6 & 7 have been using Teams and communication between teacher and learner has already begun!<\/p>\n

We will issue guidance on the amount of communication you can expect from teaching staff in the coming week.\u00a0This will vary between stages due to the different activities planned by staff. <\/span><\/p>\n

Learning Packs will be available today and tomorrow and will be given to pupils to bring home if they are attending school. Other resources such as\u00a0sanitary items, toothbrushes and toothpaste are free to anyone who needs them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are aware that some families are already self-isolating, therefore the school will\u00a0get\u00a0Learning Packs to you.\u00a0 <\/span>Please fill in the form below\u00a0to let us know how you wish to receive yours.\u00a0This form only needs to be filled in if your child\u00a0has been absent from school in the last week. <\/span><\/p>\n

You might be inclined to create\u00a0 a minute by minute schedule for your child,\u00a0however, like many of us,\u00a0 they have never experienced anything like this before and will share the same worries and fears.<\/p>\n

It is equally important at this time to comfort, care for each other\u00a0and consider\u00a0transferable life skills which can be learned at home.\u00a0Why not\u00a0take a break from\u00a0Learning Packs\u00a0and play board games, bake cookies, or to\u00a0do a science experiment together?<\/p>\n

Please also remember it will take time for all of us to adjust to this ‘new normality’.<\/p>\n

We will miss our young people greatly, however remain encouraged Onthank Primary Community\u00a0will reflect and learn from this and come back creating a stronger future for all.<\/p>\n
