But if you add just 2 extra\u00a0characters, to make it 10 characters long, it will be 676 times harder to crack, taking a\u00a0computer programme years instead of days to solve.\u200b Check your password strength\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/howsecureismypassword.net\/\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Avoid re-using the same password for different accounts or devices.\u00a0<\/strong>\u200b<\/li>\n<li><strong>Always install updates.\u00a0 <\/strong>You should always try to install updates as soon as they are\u00a0available for any of your devices, apps or programmes.\u200b<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t send money or give out personal information in response to an unexpected\u00a0request.\u00a0<\/strong>\u200b<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be careful when using public Wi-Fi and shared computers. <\/strong>Avoid connecting to\u00a0unsecured public Wi-Fi networks. If you do use Wi-Fi on a shared network, avoid logging\u00a0into emails\/online banking etc.\u200b<\/li>\n<li><strong>If you think that you have been a victim of hacking or fraud, report it<\/strong>.\u00a0Contact Action\u00a0Fraud\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionfraud.police.uk\/\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>, the UK\u2019s national reporting centre for fraud and\u00a0cyber security.
