Primary 5
Over the last few weeks the children have settled well into Primary 5. It has been lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves back at school with their friends.
We aim to be outside as much as possible so it would be great if all children had suitable shoes every day.
Our allocated Gym Days which will take place on the AstroTurf are as follows:
P5A Wednesday/Thursday
P5B Tuesday/Friday
P5C Monday/Thursday
P5D Wednesday/Thursday
Thank you 😊 P5 teachers 👩🏫
Summer Holidays! 😀
Well P4 that is the start of our summer holidays. We hope you have a nice break, keep yourselves safe and we wish you all the best for P5.

P4 Transition Time
Well everyone, it is that time of year again, Transition Time!
As we are not together in school at the moment we are going to have a virtual ‘bump up day.’ This is when you will meet your P5 class teacher for next year.
Your P5 teachers have all been busy putting together information to welcome you and give you a little peek into what to expect next year. Exciting times ahead!
Videos and photographs will be posted here on our blog tomorrow. Enjoy!🌈❤

Our Last Week!
We have made it to the last week of Primary 4 everyone! When we started last August we had no idea this would be how we ended the 2019/2020 session.
We would like to say a big well done to all of the children in our year for being incredible during a unique and challenging time.
Even though we are not physically in school to enjoy our last week the P4 teachers have created special virtual classrooms.
In our 2 virtual rooms there are lots of objects. When you click on the objects they will take you to fun activities, websites and video clips that we hope you enjoy.
Here is the link to our virtual rooms:
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1hzRIGzSlQ05uKiUTescT-9jE2RbgCPCiBnUn9GtlwFc/edit?usp=sharing
Once you click on the link it will take you to this screen.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO SIGN IN! Simply click on the Present button (circled in red on the picture) to see the rooms.
All previous work will still be available on the blog too so if these virtual rooms don’t take your fancy you can always look on the blog pages for activities you may have missed.

POSTER COMPETITION
We have a special competition for you to complete during the last week of term! We would like our young people to design a banner or poster which welcomes all our visitors to the school. Your poster should include our school values – Confidence, Happiness, Achievement, Respect and Responsibility, as well as the school logo. The poster should also include drawings of pupils in their school uniform. Remember to make it bright and welcoming!
The winner will receive a special prize as well as their poster professionally produced and displayed around the school building on our return in August. All entries should be sent to Mr McIlwraith no later than Friday 26th June 2020. Please email your entry to eadavid.mcilwraith1@glow.sch.uk
Have a lovely week P4!
First Minister’s Reading Challenge
As we come to the end of the school year it is time to bring to a close the First Minister’s Reading Challenge for session 2019 – 2020.🎗
The DFS pupil group launched our whole school reading challenge back in January and all pupils were involved in a variety of activities and received a reading passport. These passports were filling up and the children were both keen and excited to share their reading journey at our weekly assemblies and in class. Please continue to do this by sharing a page from your reading passport or by telling us about your favourite book. You can do this on your blog, Teams page or by emailing Mrs Klein on: julie.klein@eastayrshire.org.uk
So congratulations to everyone for taking part in Onthank Primary School’s very first, First Minister’s Reading Challenge👏🏅
KEEP READING EVERYONE, WHERE WILL YOUR READING TAKE YOU?

Positive Choices Week 2020
We are on the last day of ‘Positive Choices Week 2020′. We have loved seeing some of the photos of what you have been doing this week. I hope that some of the activities have made you smile, made others happy too and helped you to feel happy and relaxed.
We should remember to take time each day to do things which make us happy.
There is still time to send a photo to Mr McIlwraith. You can send it to him today to make sure that you are included in the next YouTube montage.
Please send to eadavid.mcilwraith1@glow.sch.uk
