Week 2 Update

We have had another very busy week in school. Mrs Kane is very impressed with how well we have all settled in and how hard we are working.

We read The Rainbow Fish this week and will be exploring the book and it’s theme of friendship, sharing and kindness. The story was a great hit with all of us and we loved making our own rainbow fish which we put on our ceiling. We think that our classroom is now an ocean!

We did lots of different activities again this week, some of which were linked to our Rainbow Fish book. Activities are great for providing an element of pupil choice whilst developing social skills, fine motor skills and learning or consolidating new things.

We also wrote our first story this week. Primary 1s drew their story and Mrs Kane helped us by writing down the story we told her. Primary 2s did all their own writing and Mrs Kane thought our writing was fantastic! We will all be getting a copy of our story next week so that we can share it with you!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Week 1 Update

What a busy and exciting week it has been for all of us! We’ve been busy settling into our routines, getting to know each other and getting used to our classroom. We’ve also started learning and are off to a great start!

Have a look at all of the different things we have been doing in the gallery below. They included:

* lots of different morning activities to help us develop our fine motor skills and social interactions

* playing board games with our P7 buddies

* painting a paper plate and glueing on tissue paper for hair to create a lovely self portrait

* writing and drawing our favourite summer holiday memory

* reading lots of exciting story books whilst enjoying our fruit

* exploring our lovely garden and playing on the timber trail

* doing some number work and playing maths games

* P1s learned their first sound

* our first assembly and our first PE lesson…how exciting!

I can’t wait to have just as exciting a week next week. Have a lovely weekend!

Mrs Kane
