Primary 1
Literacy
We learned the sounds <g> and <l> last week. I have added these letters to our homework folders. Please practise all of your sounds. You can put the sounds out, point to a letter and say the sound or your helper can say a sound and you need to find the letter. Can you find things around the house starting with your new sounds g and l?
Please practise your word list words. Practise to reading and writing them using your magnetic letters. I have also added some common words, some of which have got tricky parts that we can’t sound out. Please practise reading these, too.
Maths
We are exploring shape, colour and number patterns during our play activities just now. To practise more at home, you could play Shape Patterns. Start with Level 1 and make it harder if you think you can manage it.
Primary 2
Literacy
This week we are looking at 2 phonemes: <ll> and <ff>.
Please choose an activity from your Bingo sheet to practise your spelling words. I have also passed home our spell check jotters so that your mums and dads can have a look at all your wonderful work. Please return the jotter by Friday.
Numeracy
We are continuing to work on our subtraction strategies, going all the way to 20 this week. You can practise this by playing Minus Mission. You need to be quick in this game!
