JRSO COMPETITION

We would like to invite you all to enter our competition that we are launching today.

We have just spoken to you about The Green Cross Code and we would like you to create and design a mascot for our Green Cross Code display.

We have a few examples to get you started, but we know you will have better ideas.

We would like you to use an A4 sized piece of paper and it can be portrait or landscape.

As it will be going on the wall here to add to our display, make it as bright as you can and feel free to put words on it too.

If you need a piece of paper, let your teacher know and the JRSO team will give paper to your teacher for you.

We will have 2 winners. There will be a winner from Primary 1 to 3 and another winner from Primary 4 to 7.

The prize will be a JRSO Goodie bag which includes a yummy treat!!!!

ALL ENTRIES TO BE HANDED IN NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 29TH NOVEMBER. THE 2 WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT ASSEMBLY ON TUESDAY 10TH DECEMBER.

If you have any questions, come and find us in the playground or ask Miss McMillan.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

This Friday children can come to school wearing spots, if you don’t have anything spotty don’t worry! You can wear your own clothes. Donations will be taken via Parent Pay.

Pyjama Parade Reminder

Our big fundraiser this session will be a Pyjama Parade, and this will take place on the last day of term, Friday 11th October. Our whole school community is invited to take part. Look out for more information coming soon on the school app.

We are delighted to be participating in East Ayrshire Council’s new Active Travel initiative “Shoot to Saturn” this session. The programme aims to encourage children and young people to make their journeys to and from school active ones.

Parent/Carers can help us gather Bonus S-miles by telling us about any additional active travel journeys that are made to school, out with the morning drop off/afternoon pick up times. For example, walked to school to drop off a forgotten lunch box?

Scan the QR Code on display in the school entrance and earn Bonus S-miles for the school!

You can also earn Bonus S-miles for our school by telling us about your active travel journeys out with school times. Did you make an active travel journey in the evening, at the weekend or during a school holiday, instead of taking the car?

Scan the QR code or click on the link and tell us about it.

We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress and thank you in advance for helping us “Shoot to Saturn!”

From our NRPS Climate Champions

Thank you to all for coming along to our workshop. We really appreciate it.

Here is the presentation for anyone who would like another look at it or who was not able to come along.

Please fill out the very quick feedback form so that we can improve for next time and can plan for other parental engagement events this year

Library

Now that we have achieved our Core Reading Schools Award, we are keen to continue all of our hard work and maintain our positive ‘reading for enjoyment’ ethos.  We are planning to visit the Stewarton Library again this session but before we do that, we would like to ensure that all library books borrowed last year are returned.  Can you please return any books borrowed previously or ask your child/ren to bring them into school to be returned on their next visit?  It is important that we support our local library as much as possible as it is such an important community resource for everyone.  Thanks

Please see attached regarding Primary 7’s Bring and Buy sale

This term we will be having a Celebration of Scots Language” (February) and Primary 1 will be learning the poem “Mince and Tatties”. We would be very grateful if you could help your child to recite the poem at home. You could talk about the Scots words and see if you know what the poem is about.  Once you feel confident that you have learnt your poem why not have a go at getting someone at home to film or record you or you could recite your poem to you class.

Have fun Primary 1!
