Peaceful Garden Quote CompetitionšŸ“ššŸ¦‰

We’re excited to invite children, parents/carers to take part in a special competition to help shape our schools Peaceful Garden Area, a quite calm space where imaginations can grow through the love of reading.
The winning quote will be designed and proudly displayed in the peaceful garden for everyone to enjoy.
Hand your inspirational quotes into Miss Sawyers, Mr Howie or Miss Ward by the 13th of March.
We are excited to receive your entries! Good Luck!

Measuring Weight

We had a great time last week making our own fruit salads when learning about weight. We talked about how much fruit we wanted to weigh out.

We were able to read the scales and decide if there was too much (too heavy) or too little (light) and were able to talk about how to fix this, by adding or taking away.

P1 loved using our child- safe knives to cut and prepare the fruit for our salads, using great listening skills.

Scottish Assembly

This Friday is our Scottish Assembly. All children are invited to wear something tartan (a piece of clothing, an accessory etc) to celebrate the day.

Well done to all our hard workers in P1B who have spent weeks preparing for this special event. A special good luck to our three finalists!

Thanks,

Miss Barrett

Scottish Foods

P1B and P1R had a lovely afternoon yesterday trying some Scottish food and drink.
We voted on the things we thought we would and wouldn’t like. Talked about what made the food Scottish and what it was made from. Then onto the tasting…

We had some thumbs up and some very BIG thumbs down for certain foods.

Note to self, pepper oatcakes are very spicy… Nothing a little Irn Bru couldn’t fix though!

Well done P1 for being brave and trying things out of your comfort zone 
