Outdoor Learning 22nd January

Both Primary 1 classes joined forces this week again for outdoor learning.

Yet again the weather did not stop them from working as a team to come up with creative ways to approach their tasks.

They experimented with different ideas to measure the depth of their digging by using non-standard units of measure (hands, feet and even legs to name a few). They developed their fine motor skills while creating number lines with chalk. Then took on different characters during role-play, it seems we have some budding baristas in the classes. Some children used the rain and paintbrushes, they had a lot of fun working on their letter formation and common words. There was also some design problems solved in the construction area with water jugs being built to catch the rain.

Literacy, numeracy, science and expressive arts all in a Primary 1 afternoon!
