Primary 1\/2HW tackled their topic this week by learning about New Zealand’s national bird, the kiwi.<\/p>\n

After some research they used their task board to choose the order they did their activities in while also developing their time management skills.<\/p>\n

The class also developed their numeracy skills while measuring some kiwi eggs. Primary 1 used non-standardised units such as counters and cubes while Primary 2 used rulers to measure in centimetres.<\/p>\n

They created labelled diagrams of kiwis and Primary 2 added a kiwi fact that they had learned for their literacy station.<\/p>\n

Finally at the creative stations they used their art skills to make papercraft kiwis and nests with eggs out of dough.<\/p>\n

And all before their lunch, well done P1\/2HW!<\/p>\n
