Remebrance Day

A small group of P7 children volunteered to take part in the Newmilns Remebrance Parade and laying of wreathes in memory of all of the service men and women who have given their lives in the many conflicts around the World.

It was also nice to see some of our other pupils at the Remebrance Parade today representing some of the different groups within Newmilns.

Over the last week, children have been learning about Remebrance day and the significance of it.  Many class have written poems or have taken part in different poppy themed art activities as part of the work.  We will display some of these in the school for you to see.

Harvest

Last session each class took part in a planting challenge.  In September we harvested our crops.  Here are some of them below!

Mrs Law used the potatoes to make mini potato scones, the onions to make spicy onions, the beetroot was used in salad and the parsnips in soup!
