Early Level Transition

Our transition programme always starts after P1 registration.  We have left some highlights from last year for you to see some of the things we do!  Obviously we had to keep within COVID-19 restrictions but the children still benefited lots and enjoyed all of our activities.

Buddy Morning

Today the children went outside with Miss Smith and P1 to plant sunflower seeds.  We all sat in our bubbles and Miss Smith was able to speak to us and we could see our friends from last year.  The children were very excited to plant their sunflower seeds and have brought them home to look after.  Please send in pictures of how they are getting on to Elaine.millar@eastayrshire.org.uk

We also met some of our buddies for next year over the garden fence.

Meet Norman our Transition Bear.  He has came to visit us within the centre and brought his case with special letters from P1.  We were very excited to meet Norman and we asked him questions about P1.  P1 sent us a video about everything they like to do at school and we saw all of our friends from last year.

An app message went out on the app sharing this video presentation about our transition programme.  If you wish yo watch this again please click this link below.

Scavenger Hunt

We started our transition to primary 1 this week with some of the pre school children taking part in a scavenger hunt around the school.  We found Miss Smith’s primary 1 classroom, the gym hall, the toilets, Mrs McCracken’s office and lots more important places.  The rest of the children will have a turn later this week.
