Sponsored Bounce

Thank you to the Parent Council for organising Boogie Bounce to support our Sponsored Event which was held yesterday. The children looked like they had great fun! There was definitely some red faces at the end of the day. The children raised the fantastic sum of £564- many thanks to all that contributed.

A big thank you to Gemma from Boogie Bounce, who bounced all day in order to lead the sessions!

World Book Day – Thursday 5th March

World Book Day will be on Thursday 5th March. This year we have decided to incorporate a theme of reuse and recycle by holding our very own Book Swap. Children are invited to bring in a used book (good condition) that they have outgrown or no longer wish to read and swap it for a different one!

All children from the School and ECC are invited to join in!

On the day Mrs Young will collect in all the books in the morning and then children will be invited along later in the day to browse the selection and chose a new book.

The more children who take part the more choice there will be for choosing a new book.

Children who bring in a book to swap on the day will also receive a raffle ticket and be entered into a raffle to win a Prize!

Nature Squad

The Nature Squad ( small group of children from upper school) have been working in the Nature Trail behind the school. They are looking at how to improve and conserve this area by doing things like litter picks, making and hanging bird feeders and protecting the wildlife.

To help protect some of the smaller creatures the group created this fabulous Bug Hotel by working together. We were very grateful to have the support of Kate, Dean Park Ranger, who helped on the day.

A big thank you to everyone who donated materials to help make this possible.

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year was celebrated on the 25th January. We learned all about it during our circle assembly. We then worked in our circles to create some Chinese New Year inspired artwork.  We were lucky to have some of our own pupils leading the learning by sharing their experiences of Chinese New Year.

We created these very effective dragons using cupcake cases and googly eyes.

ICT Refresh

As part of the council’s rolling ICT refresh programme a few updates to ICT have been made around the school. Desktop computers within classes have been updated as well as an update of laptops. We now have a portable laptop charging cabinet which can be moved into the different classrooms allowing much easier access during daily lessons.

As well as this some of our older promethean boards where upgraded. Im sure you will agree these are a fabulous addition to our classrooms.
