Literacy Buddies

Lots of fantastic Literacy work has been going on around the school.  Here are some pictures of P3/4 and P6/7 playing some Literacy games together designed to help improve reading skills.

Well done to P6/7 for leading these activities with P3/4!

Gymnastic Fun

Through our great partnership with Active Schools we have been lucky enough to have two great students from Ayrshire College working in the school on a Tuesday afternoon. They have been leading PE sessions for P2/3 and P6/7 during their time at Newmilns Primary.

Over the past few weeks P6/7 have been learning about lots of different aspects of gymnastics. Here are some photographs of P6/7 performing the new skills they have learned.

Book Week Scotland

The week beginning 20th November is Book Week Scotland. As part of this the children in Primary 2 and 3 will receive a free bag of books and activities from the Scottish Government’s Read, Write, Count Campaign. P1 children will receive a free Bookbug bag from the Scottish Book Trust which also contains a variety of books.

These bags are full of useful activities and games. I have included some useful links below that give lots of suggestions of activities that you can do at home with your child using the contents of the bag.

Happy Reading!
