Congratulations to the Primary 7 pupils who entered the Primary Engineer Celebration Event today at Onthank Prinary School. They have been working hard in recent weeks to design and build a motorised battery operated car. Special thanks to Miss Taggart for all of her hard work and enthusiasm in helping the children with the manufacture and design of the vehicles. Congratulations to David Gray and and Robbie Young who won the event and will now be put forward to represent East Ayrshire at the West of Scotland final in Glasgow in June.
This afternoon we had a fantastic visit from Greig from the Google Expeditions Team. The children had a fantastic time exploring different habitats and landmarks across the world. Some of us even got to look closely at outer space! The Google Expeditions app is free to download so more exploring may be happening at home this weekend!
Congratulations to our four pupils who represented the school at today’s K-Nex cluster final. Holly and Ethan from P5 snd Kieran and Keiran from P6 worked really hard to design and build a bridge which had a moving part to let boats travel under it and also be strong enough to balance a small bottle of water. They showed super teamwork, perseverance and design skills in what was a really tricky challenge. The event was judged by Miss Hood, a teacher from the design and technology department at Loudoun Academy who shared her knowledge and expertise with the children. Well done!
