Easter Activities

Today in school we had lots of exciting Easter celebrations taking place. The boys and girls from the Early Childhood Centre entertained us at our circle assembly by taking part in an Easter bonnet parade and they sang us some wonderful Easter songs. Congratulations to Riley and Rylan who were the winners of the Easter bonnet competition. Also a huge well done to Karen Bisland, Kacey Bisland and Eilidh Gray who were the lucky winners of the P4/5 raffle competitions that they have been running as part of their financial education project. Happy Easter everyone! 🐣

Parents Night

Thank you to everyone who attended last nights parents evening and learning fayre. Special thanks must go to Pamela from Tesco Galston (community champion) who attended and kept everyone busy with a variety of Easter crafts and activities in the hall.

Graeme Obree ‘The Flying Scotsman’ Visit

On Monday 20th March the boys and girls were lucky to have a special guest at their assembly. Graeme Obree, a former pupil at Newmilns, shared stories about his decorated career, education, love of cycling and much more! He even answered some tricky questions from the children. The visit was arranged in conjunction with Creative Minds and the Gran Fondo Tour of Ayrshire which aims to engage and inspire children in their love of cycling. He kindly donated one of his Sportsman of the Year awards to the school which Mrs McCracken hopes to award at this years prize giving. This was a very generous gift which will be used for many years to come at Newmilns.
