{"id":16842,"date":"2021-10-03T15:11:23","date_gmt":"2021-10-03T15:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/newcumnockprimaryschoolea\/?p=16842"},"modified":"2021-10-03T15:11:23","modified_gmt":"2021-10-03T15:11:23","slug":"playground-buddies-2021-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/newcumnockprimaryschoolea\/2021\/10\/03\/playground-buddies-2021-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Playground Buddies 2021-2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/newcumnockprimaryschoolea\/files\/2021\/10\/Playground-buddies-e1633272871854.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-16843 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/newcumnockprimaryschoolea\/files\/2021\/10\/Playground-buddies-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you know we are a PATHS school.\u00a0 We deliver PATHS wellbeing programme across the school from P1-P7.\u00a0 This involves teaching our children<strong> P<\/strong>ositive <strong>A<\/strong>lternative <strong>T<\/strong>hinking <strong>S<\/strong>trategies in a bid to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of last session all of our Classroom Assistants were trained to ensure consistent delivery of the programme across the school.<\/p>\n<p>This session I am delighted to announce that some of our P6 pupils have taken on a leadership role and have been appointed PATHS Buddies.\u00a0 Their role is to support the younger children in the playground by helping them to find friends, play fun games and support them if they feel overwhelmed.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of the session our P2&#8217;s and P3&#8217;s found the walk along the ECC lane a bit daunting in the morning.\u00a0 Our Buddies have worked hard to support the wee ones by meeting them at the gate prior to 9am and walking them along into the playground or school on a wet morning.\u00a0 As a result we have had positive results and some great feedback from parents.\u00a0 Keep up the good work P6!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As you know we are a PATHS school.\u00a0 We deliver PATHS wellbeing programme across the school from P1-P7.\u00a0 This involves teaching our children Positive Alternative Thinking Strategies in a bid to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
