P6 enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee last week.\u00a0 Each class was given a decade of the Queen’s reign to investigate and ours was the noughties (2000-2009).<\/p>\n

We explored genres of music from that decade as well as news stories.\u00a0 We found out that a plane had to carry out an emergency landing on the Hudson River in New York and that the Human Genome was sequenced amongst other stories.<\/p>\n

As the Human Genome project was completed in 2003 we also had fun making models of the DNA double helix and extracting DNA from strawberries.<\/p>\n

We also drew some of the Queen’s corgis before having fun outside at our Jubilee picnic.<\/p>\n
