What we’re doing to decarbonise the council\u2019s fleet and minimise grey fleet mileage, while encouraging active travel through walking cycling and public transport whilst building active travel into everyday life and promote a range of benefits for health, the environment and the economy.

Our 2025\/26 progress:<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Voyage to Venus<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Our JRSOs and Clean Green Transport Team have encouraged whole school participation in the Voyage to Venus initiative all session. They have promoted and updated the whole school on our progress with this at whole school Get Togethers.<\/p>\n

Park and Stride<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Park and Stride from the pool is still a standard set for our Voyage to Venus tallies. This is to ensure a reasonable walk to school, promote safe parking and reduce traffic around our school grounds at peak time.<\/p>\n

Walking Bus<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Our Walking Bus has ran all session promoting active travel and targeting those with poor attendance too.<\/p>\n

Public transport and NEC cards<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Where possible, we have used public transport and NEC cards for trips, for example to Sportshall Athletics in Cumnock.<\/p>\n

Bikeability<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Our P6s have successfully achieved their Bikeability Level 1 with Courtney even giving bespoke lessons to 2 of our riders who couldn\u2019t independently ride a bike. They have since experienced success and have now developed this important skill. Our P6s will no progress onto Level 2 which is riding within the local community, once the area has been scoped out by Ayrshire Roads Alliance. Our P7s will be put through their Level 1 Bikeability prior to the end of session before they leave for Secondary School.<\/p>\n
