Division Games

Have a look at the link below and try to make your own version to play at home.  All you need is some paper, a paper clip and someone to play with.  You can make up your own rules- you could have a sheet each and see who finishes first or you could take turns about.  It’s up to you.  Have fun!

Try to beat your scores of your times tables from yesterday throughout the week.

Kindness Path- rock painting

In my hometown there is a group called Annick Rocks!  Boys and girls paint rocks and hide them around the town for others to find.  When you find one you take it and hide it somewhere new for someone else to find.  Unfortunately due to what is happening just now it is not safe for boys and girls to pick up stones, so instead they have been painting their stones and creating a kindness path in the park leading to a fairy garden.  I thought it would be a lovely idea if you all painted your own and started your own kindness path at home for your own garden.  When we return to school, and it is safe to do so, we can bring our rocks in and make a kindness path in the school garden.  Happy painting!

Good morning boys and girls. Hopefully the rain isn’t too bad and you manage to get outside for some of the day. Eva and I managed a walk in the rain yesterday and jumped in puddles and walked in the river. What things do you like to do on rainy days?

Family game

You can play this with anybody in your house who is free or you can do it on your own.

Word Race: Each family member will need paper and a pencil for this game. Family members take turns to choose a word for play by randomly choosing a page of the dictionary and then finding the longest word on the page. The chooser writes the word on a piece of paper and places it in centre of table. Each family member then writes as many words as they can, using only the letters of the chosen word, in a two-minute time limit. The winner of each round is the person who finds the most words. You can increase the difficulty of the game by making a rule that words must have at least four letters.

Bug Club

Continue with your Bug Club reading book.  Remember to refer to the text to help you answer in full.

This week, we should like you to watch a DVD of your choice and take notes while you are watching it.

DVD & Comic Strip (to be handed in by Friday 22nd May)

This week, we would like you to watch a DVD of your choice and take notes while you are watching it. Then, we would like you to create an amazing comic strip to retell the story you watched. This should be on a piece of paper and divided into little boxes with each box telling a different part of the story, or on computer using a drawing package or creative typing. You have a few days to do this so enjoy the movie with your family and popcorn and then make up a fabulous Comic Strip.

I’ve attached a Comic Strip Template but you don’t have to use this if you other ideas.

Have fun.

Nature Collage

Go exploring in your garden and collect interesting and odd things in a bag or a bucket.  Create your own art masterpiece using the items you have collected.  You can glue these to a piece of card or paper or make a design on the garden path.  You can use any additional supplies you may have in the house to help you complete your creations.  Look at the link below for some inspiration.  I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Snap Game – Use card/paper to make your own times table snap game. Have one card for the answer e.g. 25 and one card with the sum e.g. 5×5. You can mix as many times tables as you want and make as many cards as you want. Try and keep the cards the same size and make sure they match up with another card.

  1. Pass out the cards to the players and make sure they are all mixed up.
  2. First player puts down their card e.g. 25 and the person that has the matching multiplication (5×5) would put theirs on top.  The same if one person puts down the multiplication card e.g. 4×6 the person with the matching answer (24) would put theirs on top.
  3. The winner is the first person to get rid of all their cards
