Cost of Living Crisis<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

At Mauchline Primary School we are aware of the current cost of living crisis, and the impact this may be having on our families.<\/p>\n

Recycle and Reused Uniforms<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you would like to donate any uniform that\u00a0 your child no longer has use for but is in good condition and could be used by another family, please hand any items into the school office. All donations would be gratefully received.<\/p>\n

Items of school uniforms can be collected from the table in the school reception area.<\/p>\n

Pre-loved Halloween Costumes and Christmas Jumpers<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the run up to Halloween and Christmas, we are looking to gratefully receive donations of pre-loved Halloween costumes and Christmas jumpers. If you have costumes or jumpers that are no longer in use, please hand them into the school office.<\/p>\n

Halloween costumes and Christmas jumpers will be available for collection on the tables\/ rails with the school reception area.<\/p>\n

Period Poverty<\/strong><\/p>\n

Supplies are available in the upper school girls toilet, changing room toilets and visitor toilets for anyone who wishes to take them.<\/p>\n

We also have a Period Poverty group who monitor & meet with our HWB lead.<\/p>\n

Stay Period Protected – Community Provision<\/h6>\n

Residents can now receive free period products by filling out an online form at https:\/\/eastayrshi.re\/FSP<\/a> or alternatively, the products can be ordered by phone, 01563 554400.<\/p>\n

Scottish Child Payment – Extended to children under 16<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Social Security Scotland have extended the age limit from under 6 years of age to under 16 year for Scottish Child Payment.<\/p>\n

New claims can be made from Monday 14th November 2022 for children who will now fall into this extended age range.<\/p>\n

Payment will also be increased for each child to \u00a325 per week.<\/p>\n

Warm Home Discount Scheme<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

If you are on a low income you could get off money off your electricity bill for winter 2022 to 2023 under the Warm Home Discount Scheme. The scheme will reopen again in November 2022. The money is not paid to you \u2013 it\u2019s a one-off discount on your energy bill, between October and March. You can still qualify for the discount if you use a pre-pay or pay-as-you-go electricity meter. The discount will not affect your Cold Weather Payment or Winter Fuel Payment.<\/p>\n
