Walk To School Week 2022

Last week was Walk To School Week.

We, the JRSO’s were out every single morning encouraging as many people to walk, cycle, scoot and park and stride to school as possible.

We made some signs which were gathering lots of attention.

We also promoted “Mellow Mondays”, to wear comfy and relaxing clothing.

Thanks so much to everyone who supported us.

We had a super Walk To School Week.

Big Walk and Wheel

Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel schools letter - Sustrans.org.uk

Check out the pictures below of some of the activities the classes participated in during the Big Walk and Wheel.

Each class completed a daily survey recording the number of pupils who took part in active travel each day.

Primary 6 took part in  an air pollution survey, making recommendations on how to improve air pollution in their local community.

Primary 5 completed mindfulness travel bingo, highlighting the many reasons they love being outside.

Primary 3 designed their own items of cycling clothing, discussing the importance of using bright colours while out cycling.

Primary 3/4 were learning all about what active travel is. See below for the posters they made about the benefits of active travel.

Thank you to everyone who entered the JRSO cycling competition.
Our winners will be revealed soon.

We hope you all enjoyed the Big Walk and Wheel.
