{"id":3202,"date":"2023-11-13T15:46:42","date_gmt":"2023-11-13T15:46:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/mauchlineecc\/?p=3202"},"modified":"2023-11-13T15:46:42","modified_gmt":"2023-11-13T15:46:42","slug":"week-beginning-6-11-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/mauchlineecc\/2023\/11\/13\/week-beginning-6-11-23\/","title":{"rendered":"Week beginning 6-11-23"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week we are continuing to learn about our bodies but not just our bones but what we can do with our bodies and what they look like.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the outdoor water tray we\u2019ve been exploring and discussing how blood travels around our body.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve learned new vocabulary such as \u201carteries, veins and organs\u201d.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The children gained an understanding of how the heart pumps blood through the veins and arteries around our body and to the main organs.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The children proved to be extremely knowledgeable and created their own veins and arteries using pipes to transport blood to different areas of the body.\ud83e\udec0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3211 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/mauchlineecc\/files\/2023\/11\/F2642BED-E40C-4EDC-8B55-E5532CEBA59B-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Indoors we used the mirror to look at the colour of our eyes and length of our hair as some children were curious about different colours of eyes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3212 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/mauchlineecc\/files\/2023\/11\/DD6716BA-7115-44BE-921B-EA1784424B49-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Gym Tuesday <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83e\udd38\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Some children enjoyed participating in exercises involving balance and co-ordination. We briefly discussed the purpose of our muscles and used the iPad to research information and fact\u2019s relating. Did you know the human body has over 600 muscles?<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83d\udc40<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">\ud83e\uddb5\ud83d\udcaa<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3203 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/mauchlineecc\/files\/2023\/11\/7B9CEE0D-F0E9-4B2A-9117-E4DA9AC3C282-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Woodland Wednesday<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83c\udf33<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">We began exploring the local woodland area and took part in risk assessing and decision making. As a group they showed great listening skills and practiced Safe Sam, Healthy Hamble and Responsible Racoon from our SHANARRI indicators.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3204 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/mauchlineecc\/files\/2023\/11\/F2E1F237-A8DF-45F9-97CE-EF8F94A727A8-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On Friday we celebrated science day and explored experiments in each area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Science Education Day is a great reminder to celebrate and say thank you to all of those people who share their passion for science with kids and adults everywhere and in all venues.<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83d\udc69\u200d\ud83d\udd2c<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We made skeleton hands using pasta, our own hand prints and glue.<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83e\uddb4<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3216 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/mauchlineecc\/files\/2023\/11\/9045C597-8AA1-48FF-AD9F-D58427213649-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As part of world science day, the children participated in paint splatting and observed what gravity does to the paint <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83c\udfa8<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3210 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/mauchlineecc\/files\/2023\/11\/F264BBE8-FD5E-41F3-BF63-D7E8DA8CF6F1-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We discussed our five senses before closing our eyes and smelling\/touching what was inside the jars. <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83c\udf4a<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">\ud83c\udf43\ud83c\udf3e\ud83d\ude16<span class=\"s1\">These included orange peels, lavender, mint leaves and vinegar <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\ud83e\udd2d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3205 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/ea\/mauchlineecc\/files\/2023\/11\/E56F9E92-AAFF-4354-935D-BFEF652B4EE3-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nIMPORTANT DATE<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\ud83c\udf84<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> Making Christmas decorations for our Christmas Fayre <\/span><span class=\"s1\">\ud83c\udf84<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Our Fayre is on the 24th November between 5pm-7pm if you would like to pop along and purchase some crafts.<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\ud83d\udcb7<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Please come along and support if you can, all monies raised goes to the children in the school and ECC. \ud83e\udd70<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hope to see you there \ud83d\ude1c<\/p>\n<p>Lynnette x<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week we are continuing to learn about our bodies but not just our bones but what we can do with our bodies and what they look like.
