Loudoun Academy has a strong inclusive ethos and strives to provide all our young people with high quality, targeted support. We currently have three classrooms which are tailored to provide smaller group lessons. We provide a safe and inclusive base which supports vulnerable young people to overcome their difficulties, stay in school, learn and achieve to their fullest potential. We aim to instil the importance of education in our young people and provide them with a range of strategies and skills to build and maintain positive relationships and to cope within their wider education.
- We provide a morning ‘Soft Start’ lesson whereby our young people have time to prepare for the day ahead in school and are supported to engage in Health and Wellbeing lessons.
- We tailor lessons around each young person to ensure they are provided with teaching and learning which meets their needs.
- We provide blended timetables whereby our young people are able to access specialist subject teachers to ensure that high standards are met.
- Where possible our young people have key support workers to accompany them in mainstream classes.
- We are able to provide Nurturing lessons from skilled staff which are inclusive of Outdoor Learning to provide a regular and progressive experience for all learners.
- We work closely in partnership with parents and other agencies to provide our young people with support both in school at home and in the wider community.
