Leaf Detectives!
We are really enjoying our class novel ‘Matilda’ by Roald Dahl. Matilda loves to learn and enjoyed when Miss Honey taught her about how to identify trees by looking at their leaves. We decided to give it a go! If you are out an autumn walk, please look out for as many different trees as you can. We would love if you could collect some leaves to bring in to school.
The Woodroad Park in Cumnock has a good nature trail with a whole range of trees. The trail begins behind the playpark. We would also love to see any photos of you on your leaf hunt while you are out. Please send to eajulie.richmond@glow.sch.uk.
We will give each child a copy of this leaf ID sheet to use at home.
Happy hunting!

We have been learning to tell the time on digital and analogue clocks.

This game helps us match digital and analogue clocks.
You can help your child by working through the levels with them, beginning with 1- ‘read time to the hour’. If they are confident with this, choose 2- ‘tell the time to the hour and half hour’.
Some children may be ready to progress to 3- ‘read time to the quarter hour’

This is a similar game to try.
You can also help us at home by talking about the time on digital and analogue clocks.
