Home Learning WB 9-11-20

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend and are ready to start a new week!

Here is your home learning tasks:

Spelling

  • This week we are learning about the soft c rule in class, so all words are soft c words
  • Choose 4 spelling activities to complete with your new word list


Maths

  • For maths this week, we are going to reinforce our knowledge of adding and subtracting using mental strategies
  • You will be given an activity in class to complete at home in your maths homework jotters. Please write down the steps you have followed for each question as we have been doing in class. 
  • There is also a 7x table challenge set on Sumdog to be completed by Friday please

IDL

  • Wednesday 11th November is Remembrance Day and we will be doing some activities in class to mark this important day
  • Have a think about the following questions and discuss them with someone at home:
      1.  Why do we have Remembrance Day?
      2.  Why is it important to remember every year?
      3.  Poppies are often associated with Remembrance Day.          What do poppies symbolise and why do people wear them?
  • We will be discussing these questions in class on Wednesday so have your answers ready for then!

Spelling

  • We are continuing work on the f phoneme this week
  • Please complete 4 spelling activities to practise your spelling words


Maths 

  • This week our focus is on the 6x table
  • Choose a short activity each night to practise your 6x table (e.g. time challenge, bingo, Hit the Button etc.)
  • Please complete the 6x table Sumdog challenge for Friday

Home Learning W.B. 26/10/20

Hi everyone,

Here is your home learning tasks for this week:

Spelling

  • We are focusing on the f phoneme this week
  • You should choose 4 different activities to practise your words (e.g. rainbow words, lucky 3s, pyramids, bubble words, curly words, sentences etc.)


Maths

For maths homework each week we are going to focus on a specific times table to increase our speed and fluency when working with tables. This week we are practicing the 4x table.

  • Complete a short activity each night to practise
  • Example activities are:  write out the 4x table as many times as you can within a time limit- can you beat your record? Practise with someone at home- can they test you with some questions? Hit the Button, times table bingo with a family member
  • I have set a 4x table challenge on Sumdog- please complete this for Friday.
