Good afternoon P6/7!

I hope you all made it home safely.  You all did a fantastic job of your writing skills today to complete The Great Soapbox Challenge story using orientation, a complication and a resolution – well done!

Your Spelling Homework task this evening is to use all of your words to make up a short story – underline each spelling word with a ruler and pencil.

Your other homework task for this week was to research information as to why the Logan Houses have the names they do, in preparation for your work towards the selection of this session’s House Captains. i.e. What is the significance of Bello, Braehead, Dalblair and Craigston?

See you all tomorrow!

Good morning P6/7!  I hope you have had a good week.  Remember to order your school lunch!

Today is the beginning of Ganesh Chaturthi—or Vinayaka Chaturthi— which is a ten day festival, held to honour the Hindu god of intelligence, Ganesha.  On the final day of the festival, an idol of Ganesha is carried in a public procession, and plunged into a nearby body of water. When the clay dissolves, it is believed Ganesha returns to Shiva.   See if you can find out more about this festival and write about / illustrate your findings in your Soft Start jotter.
